Setupreg.hiv

I'm happy to say.. this day has been productive.

1. Setupreg.hiv in the %systemroot%system32 dir of the PE image has the CMDLine option under the setup key.

Open the .hiv file and when prompted name it setuphiv.. now go to the setup key and edit the cmdline value to point to your shell..

I actually had to download a registry program other than regedit to do this, partly because the versions of REGEDIT and REGEDT32 we have on our image don't have the file menu only starts at the Registry menu options.

RegWorkshop worked like a charm, even in the trial mode I could open the hiv and save back my changes with no problem.. remember to unload the hive before you try to create the image or it will fail, as it's locked open, until it's unloaded.

In your shell app you can have it spawn your own startnet.cmd
to use netcfg.exe instead of PEnetCFG you can use these commands to start the network.

regsvr32 /s netcfgx.dll
factory -minint
netcfg -v -winpe
net start dhcp
net start nla
net start lmhosts
