Ah Sunday.....a day of rest... REST of the laundry, REST
of the homework and REST of all the other crap
I didn't do Yesterday!!
Sometimes I feel Like Throwing In The Towel.......
But That Would Only Make More Laundry For Me.
Ticket To Flirt
We've all done this and I know I do it often. You see them on the street, coffee shop, grocery store, laundry mat, maybe even at the gym? How often do you see them? The girl with the pretty smile, or the guy with the gorgeous hair? He always gets up anytime someone needs a seat on the bus? She has the sweetest laugh or he always holds open the door. She always helps in any way she can. How many times have you crossed the path of someone you just wanted to say hi too but never have? We all do it. See them and never say a word.
Well my challenge is to finally get people to make that first move. Will it end in Happily Ever After? or The End Of The World? We never know because we never try. We all have a fear of rejection but never think about how a simple compliment could make another person's day. A compliment is a compliment and doesn't have to be more but it does open a door to other possibilities. So my challenge is to get people to flirt! Maybe flirt isn't the perfect word but it sounds cuter than Ticket to Compliment. Just think of all those people who deserve to be noticed. A pretty smile or that person who always goes the extra mile. Also this is old school so you'll have to dust off those pens and put them to work. :)
Step One: - Print out your 3 Tickets to Flirt
Step Two: - Write your contact info: Name - Phone Number Or Email
Step Three: - Write Your Status. This Is Important. You Don't Have To Be Single To Complement Someone.
Step Four: - Find 3 People To Compliment.
Step Five: - If You Don't Think You'll Be Able To Talk To The Them, Write It Down.

My Perfect Man Is Hiding Inside A Movie
We've all watched them and each time are left with that bubbly feeling inside. Wanting and dreaming of that perfect life. Being whisked away by true love. It seems so easy and perfect on the big screen. Girl and boy meet. Everything goes wrong and yet ends absolutely perfect. Each story is perfect and I can't help but watch them over and over again. I fall in love with it and of course the guy.
He's perfect and exactly what I want, well at least until the next movie. Each story is different and each character unique but yet he's always the perfect man for me. My perfect man even lives inside the books I read. He's poor, he's rich. He's silly and serious. He's cuddly and mean. He's sexy and nerdy. He's fought wars, can build just about anything, and he's been waited on hand and foot. He wears jeans, shorts, uniform and suit everyday. He lives in the penthouse and even a farm. How are so many men my perfect man.
My perfect man lives within these movies
How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days - Ben
The Ugly Truth - Mike
The Proposal - Andrew
When In Rome - Nick
The Holiday - Graham
Sweet Home Alabama - Jake
The Notebook - Noah
Pride and Prejudice - Mr Darcy
The Vow - Leo
Safe Haven - Alex
Fifty Shades Of Grey - Christian
That's just to name a few. If I had to just pick one Mr Darcy will always be at the top of my list. In Vain I Have Struggled, It Will Not Do. You Must Allow Me To Tell You How Ardently I Adore You. I've yet to cross paths with Mr Darcy or any of the other men.
Have you ever found your movie man or are you like me and has created the impossible man? Who are your all time favorite movie men? Also you don't need to be single to dream of your movie man.
The Joy Of Online Dating
I recently read a blog from a good friend of mine. He's an incredibly talented writer who truly is very blunt with his words. He explained what he wanted in a relationship and was brutally honest.
If you happen to be dating right now most likely you're using some sort of dating app. You scroll to pictures and any they give you an interest you take the next step and read their profile. From that you chose to contact, like, star or what ever your options are. If you're lucky messages are exchanged followed by phone calls. We do all this but strangely enough no one is sure exactly what they expect to get out of the whole situation. Yes many of us want love at first sight and we live happily ever after but most likely that won't happen anytime soon.
What are we willing to take from the newly connection? A fun night out, friends, one night stand, casual relationship? I ask because 99% of the time it's not happily ever after. Some are totally zero connection which is followed by you blocking them in every possible way but what about the one's that are ok? The one's that maybe you could build a relationship with.
I find people aren't a hundred percent honest about what they are willing to do with an encounter. Many people end up in a one night stand because they're under the impression it means more. One believes they must like me since we are making out and well having sex proves it but to the other well they're not really my type but who am I to turn down the opportunity for sex? This normally ends with one person blocking and the other one hurt.
Reading my male friends blog made me realize the different wants people have when meeting someone new. He flat out said he wanted sex but at the same time wanted a teddy bear. He feels lonely and would love to have someone with him but doesn't really know if he truly wants a relationship. Let alone a committed relationship He said he won't know his true feelings about wanting a relationship until he meets the person he wants to have a relationship with. .The person he wants to have a committed relationship with.
Most of us put looking for long term relationship and yes many of us want that but in the end we're not truly offering that when we first meet.
I'm slowly dipping my feet back into the dating world which will result in online dating. It would be nice to but shopping carts at the grocery store and find my true love but it just hasn't happened yet for me.
I truly have been putting thought into what I want and I'm not really sure. I watch a romantic comedy and decide that's exactly what I want. Sadly that's not reality. I want someone to share life with. Experience things with someone else. I'm just unsure if I want the full commitment yet. I love by bed and love the fact that no one snores beside me nor bumps or wakes me up at night. I love having my space but then again I'd love to share my space. Cook together, go out together, do projects together but I still truly enjoy doing my own thing.
In the end he left me confused and unsure now.
His blog is absolutely worth reading. Here is a link to the post that had my mind thinking.

About Me
![]() |
Hi I'm Delia Melo mother of two incredible girls that measure their happiness by how messy the home gets. Easy going mom who loves life and will take on any challenge that comes her way. Recently dipped my toes into the dating world and wow is all I can say right now. Online am known as Numinousgirl.
I can write about just anything and can babble for hours but when it comes to me I'm stumped. I'm a mom of two beautiful girls that truly live within my heart. I live for them. Funny enough I never wanted kids. I enjoyed my fun and carefree life and didn't want to ever feel tied down. Luckily faith had better plans for my life because I was lucky enough to know the true meaning of Love.
I'm 42 now and single. I actually took a peak into dating apps but I'm still hanging onto the dream of bumping carts at the grocery store with the right one for me. I might try and give it a real try but am still hesitant.
I love life and all it has to offer. I believe each day is special and that we should all learn to live them. Each challenge can kick us down but it gives us strength and a new outlook at life. Accept the good, bad, happy, sad, scared, heartbroken, and everything else. Life will never be perfect it's how you live it that counts.
Now entering the world of blogging I thought I would write about all the silly things that happen in my life. Looking at situations from a different side but right now that's a bit on the back burner because I love learning and well I've just entered the world of HTML. I'm fascinated at how it all works and am instead am going to try and be a resource of helpful ways to improve your blog.
If you ever have any questions please don't ever hesitate to contact me via any of my social networks. You can easily email me at hurstdelia@gmail.com too.
Happy reading and blogging and hopefully I'll be able to get to know some of you.
