I F**ked Up My Tweet!
I have never been much of a Tweeter or much of any social network. My life was diapers, sleepless nights, work, dinner, laundry and so on. Pretty much I had nothing to Tweet.
I recently got back into the world of Tweeting. I hardly Tweet but hopefully with my new blog I'll have more reason to use it now. "followers are always welcomed"
The other day I finally decided to tweet something from my blog. This was the first thing I had ever Tweeted for my blog so it was a big deal for me. I got an image of the top portion of my post and was actually excited about finally sharing my little blog. So I thought I wrote the perfect thing for my Tweet, had the link and image. I hit Tweet and thought I was done.
I all of the sudden got a message saying my Tweet was Retweeted twice with people I didn't know! Someone liked my Tweet. I went back to Twitter to look at my post and I SAW IT! MY BIG FAT HUGE MISTAKE! ok it might have been small but to me it was HUGE! I quickly clicked on my Tweet and searched for edit. Where's EDIT! Why can't I edit my Tweet! I couldn't delete it because it got shared.
I had just taken my first baby step into coding. That's what my Tweet was about. That crazy language that makes everything work. That's has to be able to help me? So I right clicked my Tweet and selected source. The scary world behind everything came up. Trust me it totally makes no sense to me at all but I had just learned about
PC
Hold down ctrl, select F
Mac
Hold down command, select F
I did it,mthe search box showed up and I typed in a word from my Tweet.. I found my horrible mistake within all that code. I started clicking on that horrible mistake in frustration to only realize I had total access to it. OMG I CAN CHANGE IT! I tried it and it worked! My Tweet changed right away. I wonder what else this world of HTML can do for me?
Now I need to get back to my 50 plus hours of trying to get a drop down menu to work for me.
Ticket To Flirt
We've all done this and I know I do it often. You see them on the street, coffee shop, grocery store, laundry mat, maybe even at the gym? How often do you see them? The girl with the pretty smile, or the guy with the gorgeous hair? He always gets up anytime someone needs a seat on the bus? She has the sweetest laugh or he always holds open the door. She always helps in any way she can. How many times have you crossed the path of someone you just wanted to say hi too but never have? We all do it. See them and never say a word.
Well my challenge is to finally get people to make that first move. Will it end in Happily Ever After? or The End Of The World? We never know because we never try. We all have a fear of rejection but never think about how a simple compliment could make another person's day. A compliment is a compliment and doesn't have to be more but it does open a door to other possibilities. So my challenge is to get people to flirt! Maybe flirt isn't the perfect word but it sounds cuter than Ticket to Compliment. Just think of all those people who deserve to be noticed. A pretty smile or that person who always goes the extra mile. Also this is old school so you'll have to dust off those pens and put them to work. :)
Step One: - Print out your 3 Tickets to Flirt
Step Two: - Write your contact info: Name - Phone Number Or Email
Step Three: - Write Your Status. This Is Important. You Don't Have To Be Single To Complement Someone.
Step Four: - Find 3 People To Compliment.
Step Five: - If You Don't Think You'll Be Able To Talk To The Them, Write It Down.

Are you a lucky winner of a flirt?
Now it's your turn to follow steps 1-5
My Perfect Man Is Hiding Inside A Movie
We've all watched them and each time are left with that bubbly feeling inside. Wanting and dreaming of that perfect life. Being whisked away by true love. It seems so easy and perfect on the big screen. Girl and boy meet. Everything goes wrong and yet ends absolutely perfect. Each story is perfect and I can't help but watch them over and over again. I fall in love with it and of course the guy.
He's perfect and exactly what I want, well at least until the next movie. Each story is different and each character unique but yet he's always the perfect man for me. My perfect man even lives inside the books I read. He's poor, he's rich. He's silly and serious. He's cuddly and mean. He's sexy and nerdy. He's fought wars, can build just about anything, and he's been waited on hand and foot. He wears jeans, shorts, uniform and suit everyday. He lives in the penthouse and even a farm. How are so many men my perfect man.
My perfect man lives within these movies
How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days - Ben
The Ugly Truth - Mike
The Proposal - Andrew
When In Rome - Nick
The Holiday - Graham
Sweet Home Alabama - Jake
The Notebook - Noah
Pride and Prejudice - Mr Darcy
The Vow - Leo
Safe Haven - Alex
Fifty Shades Of Grey - Christian
That's just to name a few. If I had to just pick one Mr Darcy will always be at the top of my list. In Vain I Have Struggled, It Will Not Do. You Must Allow Me To Tell You How Ardently I Adore You. I've yet to cross paths with Mr Darcy or any of the other men.
Have you ever found your movie man or are you like me and has created the impossible man? Who are your all time favorite movie men? Also you don't need to be single to dream of your movie man.
The Joy Of Online Dating
I recently read a blog from a good friend of mine. He's an incredibly talented writer who truly is very blunt with his words. He explained what he wanted in a relationship and was brutally honest.
If you happen to be dating right now most likely you're using some sort of dating app. You scroll to pictures and any they give you an interest you take the next step and read their profile. From that you chose to contact, like, star or what ever your options are. If you're lucky messages are exchanged followed by phone calls. We do all this but strangely enough no one is sure exactly what they expect to get out of the whole situation. Yes many of us want love at first sight and we live happily ever after but most likely that won't happen anytime soon.
What are we willing to take from the newly connection? A fun night out, friends, one night stand, casual relationship? I ask because 99% of the time it's not happily ever after. Some are totally zero connection which is followed by you blocking them in every possible way but what about the one's that are ok? The one's that maybe you could build a relationship with.
I find people aren't a hundred percent honest about what they are willing to do with an encounter. Many people end up in a one night stand because they're under the impression it means more. One believes they must like me since we are making out and well having sex proves it but to the other well they're not really my type but who am I to turn down the opportunity for sex? This normally ends with one person blocking and the other one hurt.
Reading my male friends blog made me realize the different wants people have when meeting someone new. He flat out said he wanted sex but at the same time wanted a teddy bear. He feels lonely and would love to have someone with him but doesn't really know if he truly wants a relationship. Let alone a committed relationship He said he won't know his true feelings about wanting a relationship until he meets the person he wants to have a relationship with. .The person he wants to have a committed relationship with.
Most of us put looking for long term relationship and yes many of us want that but in the end we're not truly offering that when we first meet.
I'm slowly dipping my feet back into the dating world which will result in online dating. It would be nice to but shopping carts at the grocery store and find my true love but it just hasn't happened yet for me.
I truly have been putting thought into what I want and I'm not really sure. I watch a romantic comedy and decide that's exactly what I want. Sadly that's not reality. I want someone to share life with. Experience things with someone else. I'm just unsure if I want the full commitment yet. I love by bed and love the fact that no one snores beside me nor bumps or wakes me up at night. I love having my space but then again I'd love to share my space. Cook together, go out together, do projects together but I still truly enjoy doing my own thing.
In the end he left me confused and unsure now.
His blog is absolutely worth reading. Here is a link to the post that had my mind thinking.

Defeated Part 2
I had been meaning to continue the adventure I had when I decided to purchase a Weller Soldering Iron. Please read originally post prior to this one because this will probably be a very pointless story without part one.
Shamefully I returned to Lowe's in hopes to get help with the soldering iron. I went to the returns counter and explained how me not being able to open the compartment for the batteries has completely ruined my life.
The guy at the counter just smiled but I had a suspicious feeling that he was laughing at me from the inside. As he attempted to open the compartment I closed my eyes shut in hopes if I didn't see it get easily opened that perhaps it wouldn't feel as shameful. I waited for the words "well here this just easily popped open" I kept waiting and still nothing.
I finally took a peek and to my unbelievable joy he was still struggling at trying to open it. I couldn't have felt better at all.
Finally he gave up and had asked another associate to open it for him. The other associate was younger and looked much stronger. I thought to myself, even if he could open it I could justify that it took a super hero to get it open. He tried several times and YES! still no luck! It was unanimously decided the soldering iron was defective.
Now I was off searching for a replacement. Wondering why at of all of them that I had to end up with the defective one. I finally located the soldering guns. At least I had pride in knowing where they were this time. I must of looked like an absolute pro. I grabbed one and headed back to the returns counter. I was happy to just be able to make a quick exchange. I had a smile on my face and looking forward to finally fixing the scooter.
The man who originally helped me suggested that we open the package to make sure the new one didn't have the same issue. Of course it was in one of the plastic packages that require the jaws of life to open it. He asked the girl on the other side of the counter for a pair of scissors. She gladly got him a pair and as she handed them over to him she had asked why and of course he explained what happened. She picked up the defective Weller soldering iron and went to try and open it. The man and I both smiled knowing it was pointless for her to try, Just as he was about to start opening the new one she handed over the defective Weller Soldering gun with an opened compartment! My glory faded within seconds. How was that possible!!!! She smiled and explained how she just squeezed one of the sides instead of both. I grabbed it and begrudgingly said thank you and headed out of the store. I got in my car shaking my head but at the same time I just wanted to get my little project done.
As soon as I got home I headed straight to the scooter. I turned on the soldering gun and went straight to work................oh no! The soldering iron wouldn't heat up! Why didn't I try the soldering iron before leaving Lowe's??? Maybe I shouldn't have tossed it early that day in frustration when I was trying to open it! No way was I going back to Lowe's AGAIN! Instead I did the next best thing. I grabbed my handy dandy easy to use no instructions needed hot glue gun. Between electrical tape and many sticks of glue I managed to get those scooters started!
The one thing I learned from all this. Females might not always be the handiest when it comes to repairs but we're creative and determined,
Defeated
I've always prided myself at having the mentality of if they can do it I can do it too. Even though me doing it takes 20 times longer I still end up feeling proud.
So I've been tinkering with my daughters Razor Scooter and in the end I realized I needed a soldering iron so off I went to Lowe's. I actually find an excitement searching through the tools. Like it's a man cave and I've decided to disrupt their sacred place. Upon entering this domain I'm always greeted with the words of "Can I help you?" Other men enter with just simple "Hellos" but me. it's always "Can I help you?" Of course I quickly respond no because I know what I want, I just need to find it. So I spend countless time going up and down the aisles searching for the one thing I need. I've passed it probably 20 times but I'm too stubborn to ask for help because help would mean defeat. I finally find the soldering irons and give myself the much needed tap on the back. I ended up picking out the Weller Cordless soldering iron. Looks simple to use. Add batteries and turn on.
I get home and am excited to finally finish my little tinkering project. Having that wonderful joy of knowing I did it all by myself! I quickly get it out of the package and ready to put in the batteries. All I have to do is pinch the tabs on the iron to release the cover for the battery compartment. So I pinched. I pinched with all my might and the cap refuses to move! I've tried everything and I just can't get it off. I've even googled the issue but it seems no one else is having my issue. How can something this simple prevent me from my glory? I've tried for an hour and have even chipped two nails and still nothing.
Now I'm going to make the walk of shame into Lowe's. I feel defeated and need them to fix it for me. I'm sure some guy is going to easily pop it off for me but inside I'm hoping he struggles just a bit or miraculously informs me it's defective and he can't even get it off. One can only dream.
de·feat·ed
dəˈfēdəd/

- having been beaten in a battle or other contest."the defeated army"

Hi I'm Delia Melo mother of two incredible girls that measure their happiness by how messy the home gets. Easy going mom who loves life and will take on any challenge that comes her way. Recently dipped my toes into the dating world and wow is all I can say right now. Online am known as Numinousgirl.
I can write about just anything and can babble for hours but when it comes to me I'm stumped. I'm a mom of two beautiful girls that truly live within my heart. I live for them. Funny enough I never wanted kids. I enjoyed my fun and carefree life and didn't want to ever feel tied down. Luckily faith had better plans for my life because I was lucky enough to know the true meaning of Love.
I'm 42 now and single. I actually took a peak into dating apps but I'm still hanging onto the dream of bumping carts at the grocery store with the right one for me. I might try and give it a real try but am still hesitant.
I love life and all it has to offer. I believe each day is special and that we should all learn to live them. Each challenge can kick us down but it gives us strength and a new outlook at life. Accept the good, bad, happy, sad, scared, heartbroken, and everything else. Life will never be perfect it's how you live it that counts.
Now entering the world of blogging I thought I would write about all the silly things that happen in my life. Looking at situations from a different side but right now that's a bit on the back burner because I love learning and well I've just entered the world of HTML. I'm fascinated at how it all works and am instead am going to try and be a resource of helpful ways to improve your blog.
